Awards/Medals/Prizes are presented to students excelling in academics, project work, leadership qualities, all-round performance, extracurricular activities, sports etc. PEC Chandigarh welcomes support of its Alumni in creating such Awards.

Awtar – Teji Singh Fellowship

To cover at a minimum, tuition and fees to pursue graduate-level studies at Berkeley

 

On the basis of merit from admitted graduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Fellowship recipients will be graduates of Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh.

Mantac Brara Award for excellence in Creative Writing and Sports

The student must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 7.0 till sixth semester, Written at least one article published in PEC magazine or any other magazine/newspaper, played at  least one sports like tennis, badminton or table tennis or have won any prize in athletics or any game.

Highest marks in the Major project/capstone project from Production Engineering on the basis of 8th semester. In case of tie, the student who scores higher CGPA will receive the award.

Awarded to the student exhibiting an extra level of innovation in relation to Capstone Project, on the basis of recommendation of a selection committee and then approved by the Director.

Awarded to the student from Metallurgical Engineering for Summer Internship (16 weeks) in an Indian Foundry.

Guidelines for Student Award

Awards/Medals/Prizes are presented to students excelling in academics, project work, leadership qualities, all-round performance, extracurricular activities, sports etc. PEC Chandigarh welcomes support of its Alumni in creating such Awards. An Endowment Fund is received and the Award accrues from the interest earned on the endowment. Eligibility criterion:

  • The donor is entitled to specify the area and the criteria, which should be non-political and non-denominational in character.
  • MOU will be signed between the Institute & Alumni.
  • The money in this fund is invested by the Institute in a suitable manner and the earning thereof is utilized for award.
  • The minimum limit of monetary value of any Award to be Instituted is upto Rs. 20000/- for which a minimum of Rs. 3.0 lakhs is deposited with the Institute.
  • In the event of no candidate being found eligible for the award in any particular year according to the criteria indicated by the donor, the income accruing from the endowment shall be added to the Institute Award fund.
  • The final decision regarding the institution of Awards of any kind will rest with the Senate of the Institute.
  • All these awards are life time awards. The maximum tenure is of 10 years or lesser (if requested). On the completion of tenure, amount will be merged with the Alumnus Corpus Fund.
