Mr. Rajinder Kumar Kaura (1973- Electrical), Chairman and Managing Director, Bergen Group of Companies, along with his teammates and other alumni visited Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) on 29th November 2017 for a kick-off meeting for the Solar Tech Park.

As per the MoU between Bergen Group of Companies and Punjab Engineering College, both will work together to establish a Solar Technology Park within PEC Campus for development of indigenous Solutions & Systems of Solar Thermal and Solar PV. The idea behind the Tech Park is to develop a solar product every year and commercialise it. This initiative will be a milestone for the industry-institute collaboration.

During the meeting, they proposed to indulge Ph.D scholars of electrical department, PEC to assist the technical team of Bergen Group in setting up the Control Room and R&D structure for the Tech Park.

Mr. Kaura also suggested PEC to start a new 2-semester course on fuel cell invertor and hydrogen. Er. Yogesh, our alumnus of 1973 batch was requested to examine our current curricula and provide a fresh syllabus for the said course.

At the end, proposals were also made that after the completion of Solar Technology Park, they would like to initiate work for establishing a Hydrogen Station at PEC. A detailed Project Report (DPR) for the same will be submitted soon.
